I would start a lesson with my puppet and model a conversation in French, adding a few words. Then my puppet would ask a few students a question so that they get involved. I would differentiate the questions to the student so some might answer simple questions with their name or ‘Oui’ and I would expect others to answer in more complex sentences. Then all students will use their conversation mats and ask and answer questions with their talking partner.
