It follows Cambridge syllabus (0610) and Cambridge IGCSE endorsed book by Jones and Jones Third edition but it is easily adaptable to others. The topic is divided in 5 parts: Introduction Diffusion. Osmosis Active transport End of unit questions. Progress check: some slides contain revision activities for the different parts of the topic, some are based on the textbook. The slides have been prepared in power point. All pictures have been sourced from the creative commons website. The power point is very easy to navigate for students to be able to used it for revision. A pdf is included with a worksheet for students to prepare a Venn diagram for the 3 mechanisms of transport. This resource is designed to enhance Biology students skills in simple and serial dilutions. Mastering dilution techniques is fundamental for paper 3, practical exam for CIE and these slides provide several examples for students to practice the most common ones. They also gain hands-on experience through these slides as I provide them with the material needed to prepare the dilutions after working out the numbers. I use this presentation in combination with “Practical skills booklet” so that they can also practice past paper questions and other required skills such as graphs and planning investigations. The slides cover all the theoretical content for transport in plants and I currently use them with my year 12 group. Slides include: Brief explanation of transport needs and vascular system in plants. Plan diagrams practice of leaves, stems and roots and adding labels.
