Two fun revision activities with students to ensure they read exam questions correctly and follow instructions. 1: Give all the students a chocolate (Cadburys heros work well) and they have to complete the sheet describing, evaluating, comparing their chocolate. 2: Students will need a blank sheet of paper for this. This is a fun activity to do with a group to ensure they read instructions. Students will complete a series of instructions which are pointless but it says to read all instructions first. If they do read them they will know only to complete one or two of them but most dont do this and end up completing all of them.

This is a very detailled presentation (47 slides) about approaching AQA exam questions. It covers: Evaluation Comparison Application Terminology (e.g use of the words reliability and validity) It gives advice and examples to demonstrate how to succeed in AQA exams. Great for a revision lesson with students.

A simple checklist for students on two pages for the whole of the New AQA Psychology specification Covers Paper 1, Paper 2 and Gender, Forensic, Schizophrenia and debates for paper 3.

A full lesson or couple of lessons on cognitive interviews. Could take up to 2 hrs if needed. Includes: Powerpoint Notes sheet - for students to take their notes into (includes essay plan and exam questions, activities and evaluation sheet) Video link -to a great documentary which demonstrates use of cogntive interviews. Also included is a link to an activity (takes about 20 mins) about detecting liars - not related to CI but the students find it interesting.

A couple revision lessons on the approaches - would take me at least 2-3 hours probably to cover this as its a 66 slide ppt with 10 documents in total. Couldlast even more if you get them to try out some of the exam questions and do all the worksheets. PPT: Has short summaries of each of the approaches and then a series of exam questions, on each approach, to show key exam technique, advice for answering and sometimes sample answers. Included is a student version with blanks to fill in, or to use to test their knowledge before going over each topic. Documents: Includes a couple essay answer samples as well and lots of summary quick recall activities (blank table, key word knowledge check, crossword etc).

A document that examines what questions have been asked on previous topics before on AQA Psychology papers (Year 2 ones only). It plots how many marks have been asked on each sub-topic and then colour codes the topics by how likely there is to be an exam question on them in the next exam: Red - less likely Green - Likely Disclaimer: AQA does not follow a pattern with exam questions and there is every chance even the “red coded” areas can be asked. This is purely for teachers to use to devise mocks etc and I wouldn’t advise giving this to students.

A taster session designed to give to year 10/year 11 students thinking of A-level Psychology. Covers Lombroso and biological causes of murder so not really suitable for young children. Included is the popular resource - serial killer or Psychologist card sort to see whether there is anything in the faces of serial killers that gives them away. Lesson has video links and lots of discussion points and takes me around 45 mins.

A lesson on how to tackle the RM essays in paper 2 for AQA Psychology from an examiner on this paper. There is a powerpoint and two sample answers included as well as top tips and detailled demonstrations of how to do each part. Theres also some sample questions for students to try, some of which are new and made up so the students wont have seen them before. Includes a card sort activity too where students have to design a study.

Several applied activities and videos included Also has some exam questions and simplified mark schemes so the students can have a go at marking them themselves.

This lesson is about learning how to compare the approaches for the AQA Specification A2 topic. It has a few activities comparing the approaches and goes through how to write comparison paragraphs instead of standard strengths and weaknesses. It has a powerpoint, applied activities, notes sheet for students to use and several sample essays.

A really interactive session on Eye Witness Testimony with lots of activities and videos throughout the session. Includes having the students become “real” eye witnesses as well. Designed for year 10/year 11 students as a taster for A level Psychology - could really be used with any exam board but was made with AQA in mind. All instructions are in the notes sections of the ppt slides. Adaptable in length - can last anywhere from 30 mins - 60 mins really depending on how many of the activities are done in the session.
