This lesson can be specifically used for Edexcel GCSE History (1-9) British Depth Study – Henry VIII & his Ministers OR it can be easily adapted to teach students about the marriage between Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, along with the reasons for the annulment. The lesson is suited for or could easily be adapted for students aged 12-16
This lesson examines the following questions relating to Henry’s marriage with Catherine of Aragon:
Why did Henry VIII marry Catherine of Aragon?
What was the marriage between Henry and Catherine like?
Why did Henry VIII want to annul the marriage with Catherine of Aragon by 1527?

This lesson specifically focusses on Hereward the Wake’s resistance at Ely and then encourages the students to think about why all of the rebellions between 1068-71 were a failure.

This resource is a collection of 10 student friendly fact sheets covering all of the subject knowledge needed for the Paper 1 Medicine in Britain - Historic Environment of the British Sector of the Western Front. This fascinating lesson looks at the contributions made by the Islamic Empire to the progress of medicine and healthcare in Western Europe during the Medieval period. This lesson makes sure the students have a knowledge of the role of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committe, the local press and rival police force of the London City Police. Students will study the actions of each and explain why their actions limited the efforts of the Metropolitan Police to catch Jack the Ripper.
