This Teach, Practise, Extend PowerPoint resource focuses on area and is linked to the Year 4 National Curriculum. In total there are three slides:
Slides 1 (teach) - Detailed visual teaching points showing how to find the area of a shape by counting the number of centimetre or metre squares.Information is also given on how area is recorded
Slide 2 (practise) - Children need to count the numbers of squares in 5 shapes and record the area.
Slide 3 (extend) - Children need to apply their skills by solving an area problem about a farmer and his sheep.

Our new 'Fun with Phonics' resource is designed to develop pupils confidence when reading phonetically decodable words. It is also to support preparations for the Year 1 phonics screening check.
The pack contains five different activities each week where the pupils are encouraged to decode words, which contain graphemes up to and include phase 5, and use these in a range of situations.
The final activity encourages pupils to read real and pseudo words. The pseudo words are identified using a image of an alien to help prepare pupils for the format of the screening check.
