May 2024 Pre-Release prep Unit 2 CTEC L3 - including possible questions and answers

This is a resource that I have created for my students who are sitting the Level 3 Cambridge Technical in IT Unit 2 exam in May 2023. It includes the pre-release, guidance to the specification relating to the pre-release and possible questions that they could be asked in the exam relating to the Pre-Release and the answers.

This resource has been created to cover all of Unit 2: Global Information. It contains exam style questions for all sections of the specification. The resource is completely editable. Unit 2 workbook which once completed can be used as a revision guide. Unit 1 will also be available.

This is a short test for Section LO1 - Computer Hardware [60 marks] and mark scheme. Other section tests will appear over time.

Activities based around Units 1 and 2. Past paper examination questions with worksheets and teacher presentation with mark scheme. Questions appear on teacher presentation and then the mark scheme is revealed. Used as an ‘On the bell’ activity while pupils arrive for lesson. Process takes around 5-10 minutes when discussing mark scheme answers with class. It doesn’t cover all aspects of all LO’s. I tried to choose questions that require some independent thinking but don’t take too long to complete.

A spreadsheet I have used for the past two years to keep track of progress in CTEC IT. The spreadsheet uses a VLOOKUP for marks given for each unit and it will automatically generate a mark for an LO. Really useful to display on the board for pupils to allow them to keep track of their own progress. Grades for each unit should be U, P, M or D. Add student details and marks for each section (mock exams) and a grade and is calculated. This spreadsheet has proved very successful for predicting outcomes.

This resource contains progress tasks that can be completed on a half termly basis for Units 1 and 2. You can use them in Year 12 and 13 to prepapre your students for exam style questions.
