BTEC Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 3: Health & Wellbeing. External Examined Unit. New Spec 2022 All lessons in this examined unit focus on retrieval from Component 1 & Component 2, with a lot of exam question practice. A1 Factors affecting health and wellbeing 1x60 minute lesson looking at both economic and environmental factors that impact health & wellbeing.

These resources are planned to support students with a walking, talking mock of the Component 1 PSA. This is not used with students who are sitting the PSA as you obviously cannot guide students through these tasks. Each bullet point of the task is explained and suggestions given with regards to which content to include. Students are talked through how to attempt each task, and then given the directed time to complete each task. This Walking Talking Mock is for the January 2024 release. A lesson looking at Ann Oakley and the conventional family. There are some slides looking at the effects of the pressure of living a conventional lifestyle can have have on wellbeing such as financial implications, mental health issues etc. Students complete the proforma and comprehension questions.

BTEC National Level 3 Unit 1 Exam This lesson gives an overview of genetic predisposition and susceptibility. It also looks at pregnancy impacting fetal development and alcohol fetal syndrome. Students are then put into groups to research genetic conditions and feedback as a class.

Planned for a 100 minute lesson online (no printing required, so ideal for a cover lesson or non-specialist delivery.) This lesson looks at Fake News, Herd Mentality and considers if Donald Trump’s speech contributed to the storming of the capitol. BTEC National Unit 1 Level 3 This lesson looks at how income can impact a persons development. There is teacher input with regards to absolute and relative poverty, considering how redundancy can impact a person’s wellbeing and looking at social class. The lesson finishes with a 6 and a 10 mark exam question, with modelled answers for peer reviewing. This lesson was taught in a 100 minute lesson, so may provide enough content for 2 lessons if your periods are shorter than mine.

A lesson aimed at Year 10, where we look at the Labour Market, with particular emphasis on South Yorkshire

I can describe what sexual bullying is. I can explain why it is important to raise awareness about sexual bullying. Aimed at KS3, particularly Year 7. Lesson is 100 minutes long. Lesson doesn’t require any printing so is suitable for non-specialists and online learning.
