Favourite Number Bingo!

Favourite Number Bingo!

(0)
A very simple game of bingo for younger learners. No additional resources required. Just ask your student’s to write 5 random numbers between 1 and 30 (in pencil) in the game grid provided. There is space for 5 games. Then call out a number (between 1 and 30) and if a student has that number, they cross it off (make sure they use a different coloured pen to cross out their numbers) to avoid cheating. The first person to cross out all their numbers shouts BINGO! They win a prize, sticker or house point etc. You can make this game more Maths focused by calling out the numbers like, ‘What is the total of 3 and 5?’ Anybody with the number 8 crosses it off and so on. It’s up to you if you want to play it like that.

Times Tables Success / Tracking Sheet (with flash cards)

(0)
Every child can use this excellent times tables tracking / success sheet. Children work in pairs (using the flash cards provided) and progress at their own rate. Times tables are consolidated and tested frequently. When a child is able to recite a set of times tables flash cards in random order (without mistakes or hesitation), a person will write their initials in the attempt box on the tracking sheet. A child needs 3 initials (3 correct attempts) to move on to the next set of flash cards. Once a child has completed a whole stage, an adult will test them. If they pass the test, they move onto the next stage! You will need to print off and put the flash cards together before you begin… they are all attached!!

Counting Practice - Generate SPEED

This counting activity, if done on a weekly basis, speeds up counting and helps develop multiplication facts. . Time guide: 1 - 5 minutes: EXCEPTIONAL 7 - 11 minutes: FAST 12 - 17 minutes: AVERAGE 18 minutes or more: NEED TO SPEED UP . This sheet is designed so that numbers are paired with their double. E.g. children counting in 5’s learn to count in 10’s too so they see a connection between the numbers. When children count in 6’s, they learn to count in 12’s etc. . Answers provided. Fully editable.

Finding Fractions of a Number - 3 different methods

This activity sheet should only be used once the children know the following: . 1.) How to separate counting cubes into equal groups (I use plastic cups for the groups. Alternatively you could use grouping hoops). 2.) How to draw balls on a sheet of paper and separate them into equal groups. If you are asking a child to separate halves, they should draw the balls in groups of 2 (in an array formation) then separate into 2 equal groups. If you are asking a child to separate quarters, they should draw the balls in groups of 4 (in an array formation) then separate into 4 equal groups. If you are asking a child to separate thirds, they should draw the balls in groups of 3 (in an array formation) then separate into 3 equal groups etc. 3.) How to count confidently in 2’s (when working with halves); how to count confidently in 4’s (when working in quarters); how to count confidently in 3’s (when working in thirds) etc. . This sheet has questions related to halves, quarters and thirds but you can always change the questions. Fully editable. Example shown.
