This lesson is designed to be a summary of some of the key events in Christian history.
It is the 3rd in the series of resources we are creating for the new RS GCSE.
The starter activity is based on our the fidget spinner activity from last lesson and is designed to ascertain pupil understanding of last lesson’s topic.
There is a Fidget Spinner Placemat that is designed to be enlarged to A3 size for pupils to make notes as they progress through the starter activity. There is also a fidget spinner sheet (without space for notes) that you can print in colour and laminate for classroom use.
Pupils have opportunity to use the Religious Studies Vocabulary Booklet to add any additional Key Words they learn during the lesson.
Additionally, There is an order activity on key events in the Bible and Christianity to date. There are lots of events included to give you the option to use them all or select the events that you would like to include in your own lessons.
The plenary activity is our Emoji Graph. Pupils are asked to choose some of the key events in Christian history and create an emoji graph based on this. The number of events for them to choose has been left to your discretion depending on the ability of the class.
This PPT also includes a video link to Christianity in our society today.

Icebreakers! This Back to School ice breaker resource is a great addition to back to school tutor time, 'dropdown' days or any lesson! It can even be used as a distance learning Teams or Zoom tool.
This is the perfect addition to any classroom, especially at the beginning of the year.<
This is a FULLY INTERACTIVE presentation with animation and MUSIC. The PPT consists of over 30 Slides with 12 Icebreaker scenarios and three of our fun count down timers.
Use the Ice Breaker Selector Wheel on slide 2 to select one of the 12 Ice breaker questions within this presentation. Click on a coloured segment of the selector to start it spinning and the hand to stop it. You can then click on the selected emoji to take you to the relevant activity.
If you wish to be taken back to the Icebreaker Selector, there is a signpost on each page. You have the option of selecting either one of the 5, 10 or 15 minute timers for each activity.

This is a ZERO PREP, Grab & Go Lesson!
This resource is the sixth and seventh lesson in the series of eight into an ‘Introduction to Religion’. This series of lessons is designed to introduce pupils to the six of the major world religions.
In this lesson pupils discuss the importance of festivals and under take a numeracy task based on this (there are differentiated worksheets provided in the pack). Pupils have to create an acrostic poem on the importance of festivals.
There are information cards included on religious festivals that are placed at the front of the class for pupils to ‘run’ up to collect and repeat the process once they have completed that section of the worksheet. There is a peer teaching section for pupils to teach each other the festivals in the religion they have researched and a peer assessment section.

Physics: Measuring Force, Newton Meters.
This is a practical lesson introducing pupils to Newton meters.
Physics: Measuring Force, Newton Meters Lesson pack contains: A PPT (15 slides) and a peer assessment handout (1 sheet).
Activities include:
Starter Task: A Thinking Skills questions- measuring force.
Task 1: Pupils are introduced to Sir Isaac Newton and his invention, the Newton Meter. Then pupils are asked to measure everyday items and record this information in the form of a table in their exercise books.
Task 2: Pupils should then be given a spring and a hook and 5 weights (1-5 kilograms). They will need to hang the spring and add the weights one by one and measure the length of the spring each time a weight is added and record the data in the form of a table. They will then be asked to plot a line graph (you will need to provide graph paper for this task).
Task 3: Pupils will need to conclude on the results and describe the relationship between weights added and the length of the spring and link this to how a Newton meter works.
Included in this pack is a peer assessment sheet that can be used to mark the individual activities.

Forces: Balanced and Unbalanced Force
This is a fully resourced lesson introducing pupils to balanced and unbalanced forces.
Activities include:
Starter Task: A Thinking Skills questions- on movement of objects.
Task 1: Pupils are introduced to balanced and unbalanced forces by watching a short YouTube video clip and can make notes on this.

Jesus : Who is responsible for Jesus’ death? ( Murder Mystery Style Resource)
Easter Activity
This resource contains six Fact Files on characters that are relating to the Passion narrative within the Bible. Pupils can be divided into groups and asked to collect evidence on each character and build up a convincing argument as to why this person may be responsible for Jesus death.
This activity works well when ended with a class debate on this topic.
