World Space Week Bundle. Here are 10 of our resources that will be perfect to use when teaching space! Included in this is: Space AFL Activity: Pull the udder one! A completely customisable true or False activity. This particular one is based on space. Pupils love the interaction shouting moo (true) or quacking for false statements. This can be used as a starter, plenary or an AFL checkpoint activity throughout the lesson. Space Investigation: This is an independent learning investigation about our solar system. Pupils are asked to research the planets and find relevant information about them. This includes extension tasks whereby pupils research the origins of the universe and current theories (Big Bang and Red Shift). Abstract Planet Timers: For a free sample of this resource please click here This is a fun countdown timer resource that can be used as a time management tool in any lesson. You have a choice between various abstract planets. The timers are set to 1, 2, 3 or 4 minutes, but you can easily alter the timing between in the animation pane. Each abstract planet can be added to your own slides and displayed in the right hand corner if you so wish! Picture Reveal - Solar System: A lovely PowerPoint that consists of clouds clearing to reveal the Solar Systems. A great little classroom tool- the pupils will love this addition to your lessons! Energy: Sankey Diagrams Lesson This is a fully differentiated lesson teaching pupils of how to represent energy efficiency as a Sankey diagram. This Sankey Diagram pack contains: A PPT (33 slides) and handouts (5 sheets) . Activities include: Starter Task:A Thinking Skills questions- on energy efficiency. A demonstration on how to draw Sankey Diagrams. Pupils will then look at three devices and their energy efficiency. Activity: Pupils have to calculate the energy efficiency of these three items and create Sankey diagrams based on the data. There are differentiated sheets within the workbook to aid pupils who are having difficulties in drawing them. A peer assessment on the individual activities is included too. Halloween - Playing Cards Snap or Go Fish This pack contains 52 playing cards that can be printed out onto card and used as a fun Halloween resource. We recommend that you print out TWO sets and use them and pupils can use them to play snap with the deck.Alternatively, ‘go fish’ whereby all cards are put face down on the table and pupils have to try to match pairs. In both cases the person with the most sets wins. It is entirely up to you how you prepare these cards, But we recommend that you print them out, in colour onto paper or card cut around the top and bottom card (on the top and bottom left). We then fold the middle section and glue the pieces together and laminate the card to ensure it’s durability. Alternatively, you can just use the front of the card for ease of use. Halloween : Design your own Halloween Costume This is a fun Halloween activity that can be used as a fun Tutor Time activity or a whole school competition. You have a choice of giving the pupils a sheet with male and female figures to design their own costume or they can choose between a male or female figure on which to design their own wacky Halloween outfits. We print these out on A3 paper and display the best submissions on the wall. Pupils have to label each aspect of their costume and on the back of this sheet write a paragraph about their design together with some Halloween facts and information about the symbolism of each item they have used. Tutor Time: European Day of Languages Pin Badges This is a selection European Badges that we print out on card and have pupils to write what language they speak on them. Back To School - Subject Debates This is the perfect addition to any tutor session especially at the beginning of the school year! This is a FULLY INTERACTIVE presentation with animation and MUSIC. The PPT consists of over 30 Slides with 12 activities and three of our fun count down timers. Use the Subject Selector Wheel on slide 2 to select one of the 12 School Subject topics within this presentation. click on a coloured segment of the selector to start it spinning and the hand to stop it. You can then click on the selected subject icon to take you to the relevant activity. If you wish to be taken back to the Subject Selector, there is a signpost on each page. You have the option of selecting either one of the 5, 10 or 15 minute timers for each activity. These can be used if you want to focus on a specific subject question.
