This is lesson which I use at the start of every year to outline rules and routines to the new class. The lesson also focusses on the idea of ‘We All Belong Here’ and children make their own jigsaw piece which when put together can form a class display which can stay up for the whole year as a reminder of their place in the class.

This is a simple document which provides a frame to be used to record new vocabulary for guided reading. Children should be introduced to new vocabulary and develop their vocabulary prior to reading, particularly when texts are particularly old or challenging.
