A basic assembly I used with sixth form students but could be adapted. The discussion is happiness and the top ten happiest countries are shown. There is then a discussion on the Danish concept of hygge. A prayer is included and a notice board slide. There is a vote which students can take part in which touches on a topical issue of our time

A light hearted assembly that takes students through some of the more bizarre rules and laws from around the world. The school rules are the last slide (you will have to change them for your own school) and the morale of the tale is why we need rules in order to keep a calm productive environment.

An entire lesson that shows students the value of the digits in a decimal number. There is a differentiated starter where students have to recall simple doubles. The powerpoint then shows students which label we attach to which digit. It goes into an extension of converting decimals to fractions if so interested. The fully differentiated resource contains 3 bonus worksheets which can all be printed off and written on by the students

A lesson to introduce negative number and where they arise. The starter is a differentiated student choice mental addition and subtraction exercise where students must work out the missing number in a chain that gives a certain total. The answers are shown on this. The main powerpoint shows an animated use of a number line as a thermometer but also as a height indicator and as profit and loss. The spreadsheet contains multiple resources which you can chose, many of which are differentiated and all of which are write-on so that students do not have to spend tim drawing things

A complete lesson on the basics of trying to estimate the answer to a calculation by rounding the numbers. Ideal for any student working at grades 1,2 or 3. The differentiated starter gets students to round numbers (answers given). The powerpoint then takes them through the skill of estimating and gives real life examples (context). The resource that accompanies the lesson matches what the students have been shown and can be printed for them to write on. There are also 3 bonus worksheets in the file as well. Fully differentiated lesson aimed at foundation students who are tackling the now regular examination problems where items are bought under "buy one get free" type deals. The animated powerpoint takes students through how to simply buy, for example, 6 tins of catfood when there is a deal of buy one get one half price. There is a more challenging "how many could you buy with £10?" type question. The resource which mirrors the presentation can be written on and is fully differentiated from 1 star to 3 star depending on the confidence of the student

This is really two lessons in one. I use it over two successive lessons. The first lesson covers basic angle sum of a triangle and the second the special case of the isosceles triangle. The starter gets students to estimate 10 angles and then the powerpoint takes students through how to calculate the missing angle in a diagram. The resource contains two booklets that can be printed off in booklet form for the students to write on....thus no time wasted drawing diagrams. The numbers are normally multiples of 5 and so this can be done mentally
