This foldable activity consists of 2 differentiated cootie catchers (or fortune tellers) for learning or revising converting fractions to decimals. The children must look at the fraction given, convert it to a decimal, and fold back the paper to see if they’re right. It’s a great way to have students review their knowledge and not even realise that they’re learning! They’ll be engaged and excited with this addictive activity (as I am sure you will be too!).

For this instructions writing activity students will create a treasure hunt for their partner to follow. They will hide an object (name tag, stone with their initials on, etc.) and create a set of instructions to guide their partner to their object from a designated starting point.
Teaching structure:
Share different examples of instructions with your students. Get them to spot any key features. You may want to do a lesson on imperative verbs before this session.
Explain that they are going to hide an object and create a set of instructions for to get from the designated starting point (that you can decide) to their object.
Once they’ve written their instructions they can swap with their partner and see if they can follow them to find the hidden treasure.
This activity is perfect for introducing instruction writing, but can also be a great activity to link in with your measuring math topic.

Exploring the outdoors is great fun. Get your student to head out on a scavenger hunt / bingo game where they will have to collect and spot different things, crossing it off their list as they go. It’s a great activity to do on a sunny afternoon to give your class a chance to release some energy and explore the outdoors.
This pack contains two sets of bingo sheets, one for school grounds / a woodland area and another for the beach.
Diff. 1: Students go outside and cross out the items once they have collected / spotted it.
