Four sets of four problems where students have the answer but there are blanks in the questions which require filling in. This is designed to create discussion in class and hopefully provides natural differentiation (stretch the “top end” by finding the general solution where possible compared to finding a single solution). I will be using these as starters or plenaries as I believe they will develop deeper understanding of topics, but feel free to use them as you like (you will as you don’t need me to hold your hand).

Clive's made mistakes on his homework again. This time it is on solving quadratics, including the quadratic formula and completing the square in the final two questions. This is a word document worksheet involving finding the missing angles using circle theorems for KS4. A colleague of mine gave me this idea of using records and circle theorems - you have to calculate the missing angles to get the turntable fixed in each case. I've chosen some of my favourite albums! Six spiders on surface area and volume (3 of each) and a final "problems" spider. They are of increasing difficulty, moving from cubes and cuboids to prisms to cones, spheres and pyramids. These are designed to avoid students getting into a rut of performing a mathematical recipe by asking a mixture of finding surface area/volume to working backwards. These usually encourage discussion in class.

A colleague told me that I didn’t have anything on gradient and so I produced this. The worksheet hopefully leads students from finding a gradient of a line to drawing a line given its gradient to finding the equations of lines and so on. There are 8 sections and a challenge in each section to allow students to prove that they are capable of some quite complex mathematics. It ends with finding the equation of a line given two points on that line but is designed for you to drop in and out at a place of your choosing. Typo corrected!

Clive has two transformation homeworks (the second is more challenging than the first), but as usual he has made mistakes on each of the four questions. This involves simple probability, expected outcomes, relative frequency and a challenge of mutually exclusive events. It can be done as a discussion activity or as a worksheet where the challenge is on the back.
