The part whole model is often used for small quantities where children should be able to see how many of something is there without counting, instead, they will subitise; they can also use base tens or hundreds to visualise the division. This part whole model template is divided in 3 parts.
The part whole model template helps create a solid foundation of understanding numbers. Both KS1 and KS2 children with a good foundation will begin to really explore numbers, they are encouraged to think of numbers in different ways.
