Observation Introduction/Practical (OCR Psychology)

(0)
Observation Introduction Task in line with Unit 1 (Research Methods) of the OCR A Level Specification. Powerpoint outlines event and time sampling before setting students a practical using livestream cameras (links included). Students must complete a 30 minute observation using time sampling. They are given options for the livestream but must decide behavioural categories, record their data and summarise within a pie chart. Powerpoint gives clear guidelines, tips and example of raw data table and pie chart. I use this as an introduction so that the experience of conducting an observation enables students to pick up key terms (such as covert, participant observation etc) much easier and also gives them experience to refer to when evaluating.

AI Core Study Quiz (OCR Psychology)

(0)
AI Core Study Quiz - Relevant to OCR A level Psychology Unit 2. I put the titles of all 20 core studies into an AI image generator and made it into this quiz. Good take home point of not using AI as it’s rubbish and plagiarism. Extension task to get students adding lots of detail to prompts to get better images out of the AI image generators.

Core Study Wheel of Doom (OCR Psychology)

(0)
Core Study Wheel of Doom. In line with unit 2 of OCR A level Psychology but can be used with other courses that require knowledge of key research. Can also be adapted to unit 3 options. Simple powerpoint with visual of wheel and core study name. I display this on the board as students enter the classroom and get them to write as much as they can remember about that core study on a blank piece of paper. The ‘wheel of doom’ then selects someone to tell me something from the core study. It is the wheel of doom as their name does not get removed from the wheel and so they could get picked again! Class tools is the website I use that enables you to save a list of class names but I know some people have lollipop sticks etc that they use!
