I hide the initial sounds around my room and children use this sheet to find and tick the initial sound off when they find it hidden. It encourages children to recognise and form the letters in an enjoyable activity.
Children are encourage to create their own One Less than story drawing images and telling a story about them e.g. there were 5 balloons and one flew away then there were 4 left… so one less than 5 is 4. Children can create their own stories and draw their own images to help tell their one less than story.

At the end of each term you can easily see the amount of children and the percentage of children achieving and not achieving in each area of learning. This helps support you with identifying areas to address going forward.
