Lesson looking at Nuclear Fission. My lesson is based on an iPad lesson and the students having access to the files and Keynote. However, you could print out the resources and do cut and stick.
Sequencing tasks have the students order the steps for fission. 1 is easier, 3 more difficult
Starter activity which will assess knowledge retention from L1.
Main looks at consolidation of text to understand filtration and evaporation.
Practical to separate sand and salt from water
Part of a whole scheme for the C1 - Atomic Structure topic. Download the whole scheme in one to save money
Lesson 3 of an 8 part series. This lesson guides the students into planning an investigation and writing a method
Lesson includes a guided powerpoint and the related worksheets, plus links to the videos that are needed

Complete lesson on kinetic and elastic energy stores.
Starter - Students start thinking about a factor which may affect KE
Main -Allow students to think of the other factor which affects KE, then introduce the formula, some worked examples and then the opportunity for students to complete a worksheet (answers included, rearranging opportunities on the sheet). Then moved on to elastic energy, worked examples and then a worksheet for the students to complete. Finally a small practical looking at the energy in an elastic band
Plenary - 6 questions on the material covered in the topic so far, answers are in the notes.
Lesson starts with introducing the photon, then the work of Einstein and the theory behind photoelectricity. Students are prompted throughout the lesson to complete various parts on the worksheet (answers included in the powerpoint). There is then a chance to complete an exam question, and the lesson finishes with a 10 word story about the lesson.
This lesson was graded outstanding by an external observer.
Lesson introduces the ways in which ionisation can occur, giving the students opportunities to answer the questions on the worksheet. Students are then presented with a game to play which consolidates all the calculations they have done prior to this.
Lesson starts with a recap on the previous lesson
Then moves on to the wave particle duality. Videos are used for this, but cannot be included due to copyright reasons so you will have to find your own for this.
DeBroglie wavelength formula introduced, with examples, then a worksheet to complete and some exam questions
Bundle containing the following lessons:
1 - Inside the atom
2 - Stable and unstable nuclei
3 - Photons
4 - Matter and Antimatter
5 - Revision for this topic
A bundle containing loads of revision materials for core science
B1
Lots of revision ideas
Learning mats
Six mark question booklets
Exam question booklets
C1
Six mark question booklets
Exam question booklets
Worksheet looking at waves travelling through different media.
Starter used a bell jar.
This is a practical based lesson with three different activities
Lesson introducing F=ma, gets students thinking about how the three elements link together before going through several worked examples. Then move on to F=ma worksheet (answers included), and then onto linking F=ma with resultant forces (including answers).
There are stretch and challenge questions on each activity slide (AS Level) and an AS Level worksheet included
P2.1.1 - Distance Time Graphs
Worksheets for calculations of speed (answers included), chance for students to draw distance time graphs, interpretation of distance time graphs.
Students match the cause with the consequence with the cause. They then flip the cards, if they can scan the QR code and get a message, then it is correctly matched.
