I teach all levels of French in both a high-school and a middle school setting. I strive to engage my students on a daily basis. To help me remind me to do this I have Ben Franklin's quote "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." up on my whiteboard in front of my class. Some days I am more successful than others!

I use this handout in all of my French classes, (years 2 - 5) as a pre-listening activity. Students are given a handout with the song lyrics for that week and must fill in this worksheet before we listen to the song in class.

I created this activity for use in my second year French class. My students learned all about our solar system en français while completing a series of on-line classes through the High Adventure Science website (http://has.concord.org/ “Is there life in Space?” )It is intended for use with my Notre Système Solaire Powerpoint. There is a teachers and student version in this PDF . Not only do students learn about our solar system, they also apply what they have learned about stars and planets by “discovering” a new planet of their own.

This packet includes seven recipes that you can assign as extra credit projects in your beginning French classes to your more advanced. From a croque monsieur to a tarte aux pommes, these recipes will walk your students through how to make some classic French dishes. The more beginning recipes have the steps written out in English and the more advanced require your students to convert metric measurements, as well as read and understand the French directions. I use these in all levels of French that I teach, from Introduction to French to level five honors, and both parents and students like this fun activity.
