Christmas Chemistry Worksheet - chemical name match up

Christmas Chemistry worksheet on the different names and formats a students may come across for the same chemical (ie acetone and propanone) Light worksheet for the last lesson of term that raises awareness of different names and terms for the same chemical by matching the different names in a Christmas cracker theme. Very good for raising awareness of something that is not studied in its own right. Also a useful revision tool for A level students - you would be surprised how many will not know acetone is propanone! This versatile worksheet can be used as a quick exercise by joining the two answers using a line or by colouring the answers the same colour, or can be turned into a longer exercise by cutting and sticking the answers in the correct formation in the students' books.

Solubility definitions - differentiated worksheet for mixed ability classes

(0)
A simple worksheet requiring the students to assign a word to each pre-written definition. This is a quicker alternative to the classic cut and stick, allowing your students to spend more time learning Chemistry and less time perfecting cutting skills! Differentiated version encourages the low ability students in a mixed ability class to participate, for an inclusive classroom.

Familiarises students with using the periodic table and atomic masses, introduces them to more unusual elements and provides light-hearted yet useful Chemistry work, allowing them to develop periodic table skills without even realising it. Some are quite tricky, for advanced classes hand out the worksheet without providing further instruction and let the students work out how to solve the different types of code for themselves, thus developing problem-solving and initiative soft skills. KS4 electrolysis worksheet - AQA or Edexcel

Perfect practice for electrolytic products. I have included two differentiated sheets - one foundation and one higher tier. I use the foundation sheet with my bottom set foundation year 10 to help cement the concept of predicting the product of molten and aqueous electrolysis at each electrode. This is something that, with a little practice, they can easily pick up marks on. For my higher ability groups, I either use the foundation sheet as a starter, or the full higher tier sheet as a consolidation task with my triple group to help those who are a little unsure. I sometimes use it as a task weeks later after having taught the content to my triple group to check recall skills. I then use the foundation sheet as a year 11 starter with my triple groups for further recall. Answer sheets included.
