Students then fill in their worksheets moving around the class to find the information. There are two worksheets one of which is differentiated for students that struggle with literacy. There is also a starter task for the next lesson or a way of consolidating the learning of the different components.

Resources for a wood working tool activity that requires students to find information on tools and interpret it onto a work sheet. There is a differentiated worksheet for slower or lower ability students in the class with some parts filled in for a guide. The Information sheets can be placed around the classroom so students have to find the tools, recognise them and find the points they need in the text for their sheet. Shows great knowledge retention of tools and understanding of what they are used for.

2 different resources that can be used for lessons that need to be covered last minute. One lesson based on tool knowledge and one based on wood knowledge. Have used successfully for a few years, printed out and laminated and left in a draw for when a lesson needs last minute cover. Can be used by any specialism teacher and students can work in books or on paper. Based on a hierarchy system that differentiates the outcomes from a flash task, to a hulk task and finally an incredible task for high ability students.

There is a worksheet that has a differentiated version for students. This is used to show the knowledge they have gained and to help them explain the ideas of aerodynamics and streamlining. This will take about 30 minutes and can lead to some practical experiments using wind tunnels or fans and shapes to prove the theory.
