I teach English at a secondary special school for students with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. I teach age banded classes from year 7 to year 11 and some 6th form students (like in mainstream). Our classes tend to be mixed ability with a typical class having between 8 and 11 students and one teaching assistant. The ability level of any one class can range from P1 through to level 3 of the National Curriculum.
