The second text explains how young fairies develop the ability to fly. Both explanations contain an analysis of the language features to include in the pupils' own explanations. These example texts can be used by pupils to: - observe the features of explanations - rewrite the explanations using their own language or by borrowing phrases - write other explanations in the style of the author These explanations are probably most suited to pupils in years 3 and 4.
