A 25 question 'Haribo' quiz based on Secondary Economic Activities. Aimed at Irish Junior Cert Curriculum but most questions are universal and can easily be adapted if they don't suit. A great way to revise the chapter before an exam and also very good for assessing students' understanding/memory of the topic. I use Haribo jellies as the prize so I call it a Haribo quiz! Students love it!

66 PPT slides - 33 photos of places in the town and 33 descriptions of what happens in each place or why people go to each place… These slides are printed and laminated and are used as a comprehension and vocab activity. The students must be able to understand the description to match it to the correct photo. The photo flashcards could also be used in a separate activity, where students simply have to name in French each place. Suitable for junior or senior students. An 18 slide PPT on Earthquakes- suitable for junior students/1st years. Includes images, keywords and video clips. There are some ‘to do’ and ‘homework’ slides which refer to our textbook and workbook (Geography in Action), but these can be adapted to suit your own book. Also attached is a short visualisation. PowerPoint Presentation with images and words. Used to present items found in the pencil case and classroom. Blue slides for masculine nouns and pink slides for feminine nouns.

Worksheet based around the use of the verb 'faire' and the days of the week. Fill in the blank exercise (cloze test). Can be used as homework, revision or in class activity. Differentiated slightly with a 'fancy a challenge' note.

A written piece based on pastimes in the format of a letter. English questions follow. Can be used as homework or in class. Useful for assessing students vocab and also to revise letter format and key phrases for letter.

A 15 slide PPT presenting 14 French idioms/phrases e.g. to go off in a huff, to put the foot down, to grab a bite to eat. Each idiom is useful for the students' written exercises for example the diary entry. Comes with a worksheet in which students have to translate sentences using these idioms, from English to French. Also very useful when studying passé compose as most sentences on the worksheet are to be conjugated in the past tense.

Three PPTs - The water cycle, clouds and rain. Each PPT is bright and colorful with plenty of images and the key terms are underlined. There are links to animations and 'The Water Cycle' song in the water cycle PPT. There are also homework/activity slides. These link to the Irish geography book 'New Geo' by Edco but of course can be changed or deleted. Also included is a cloze test which recaps on the topic and can be used as a form of assessment or as homework.

A one page word document which summarizes the formation of fold mountains. Also explains evidence of folding and briefly touches on young and old fold mountains. Includes a very simple diagram to supplement the description of their formation. A two page word document which summarizes volcanoes, mid-ocean ridges, the Pacific ring of fire & the life cycle of a volcano. Includes all the key terms associated with volcanoes and has a labeled diagram. Also briefly touches on the pros and cons of volcanic eruptions. I made this to revise the topic with my 3rd years. A short and simple comprehension with English questions based on the house/bedroom vocab. Structured as a letter in order to revise letter format and structure too. Useful for revising or studying vocab. Could be used for HW or in class.

A 14 slide PPT based on the Boreal climate. Discusses the temperature and precipitation in the boreal regions and explains how vegetation and animals adapt in this cold climate. Contains pictures, animations and transitions. The last slide is a 'to do' slide which directs the students to questions in their text book. This can be amended to suit your class.

A 15 slide PPT which explains how to form the passé compose tense (verbs that go with avoir). Gives examples, lists the irregular past participles and has 2 gap fill exercises to assess students understanding of the topic. Attached also is a translation worksheet based on passé composé with avoir which could be used in class, for HW, as a peer exercise or as an exam. 24 sentences are in English and must be translated into French.

A 3 page word document which summarizes world climates with particular reference to hot desert climate, cool temperature oceanic climate and boreal climate. All information is presented in a comprehensive and easy to follow grid/graphic organizer. Also lists and gives a sample answer based on factors which influence climate. A 45 slide PPT which explains in detail 'Primary Economic Activities'. Based on Irish JC curriculum and so, used Irish examples. Discusses farming, fishing, forestry, mining, oil, renewable/non-renewable resources etc... Is bright, well-laid out and easy to follow. Includes images and maps.

A well laid out and comprehensive 2 page word doc based on Tertiary Economic Activities. Gives examples of jobs in the services sector, explains how economic development is linked with tertiary economic activities, discusses tourism as the world's largest industry and uses Spain as a case study of tourism (benefits to economy, social and environmental impacts).
