7 lessons exploring the Islamic celebration of Ramadan, aimed at KS2 children. The lessons explore when Ramadan is, what happens during and at the end of the month, the meaning behind it and its origin. If possible, to extend the children’s learning, there is opportunity to invite a visitor in to understand and hear their experience of Ramadan. If this is not possible, this lesson can be a research based lesson using the internet, or it can be skipped.

6 lessons teaching children the importance of Dharma for Buddhists and the meaning behind the different colours on the flag. The 6 lessons cover the Buddhist flag, the wheel of Dharma, taking ‘The Middle Path’, wisdom, teachings of good vs evil and compassion. A one off lesson for KS2 children celebrating Valentines Day. Before the poetry writing, the lesson contains some background information on the origins of Valentines Day and some time for children to consider and share what love means to them. Within the lesson there is an opportunity to read a story book called ‘Love is’ by Diane Adams which can either be purchased or there are youtube videos online.
