I am now a retired teacher having taught for over 40 years in the UK at secondary level. I wanted to share my love of Mathematics and teaching by providing a good set of resources which will more than cover all your needs for as many topics as I can and at good value for money. I am trying to cover many topics from foundation level GCSE up to grade 9 at higher level in a way that is interesting and relevant. I hope you like my style !

Sums & Difference - Mental maths with 2 digit numbers - Fun game with 7 boards

(1)
This was a starter activity for Year 7 originally but I ended up using it for many KS3 class. You are provided with a ‘Blockbuster’ board and 6 double digit numbers. Each cell on the board can be won by finding the two numbers that add or subtract to give the number contained within that cell. One player/team is trying to create a path from top to bottom while the other player/team are attempting to create a path from right to left. The winner is the player/team to complete their path (a draw is impossible). Start with the toss of a coin and then teams take alternating goes - spice it up by adding a timer ! You receive: Instructions + 6 game boards + 1 game board which is offered free separately. This is a great ‘fun’ activity which pupils have all loved - a great Christmas lesson too Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Reading From A Venn Diagram - with Answers

This is a PDF of two pages and nine questions covering more complex questions on Venn diagrams, largely limited to two set Venn diagrams (though one question is on three sets). These questions take the information given and ask pupils to put them into a Venn diagram and hence answers questions. I have included probability and also conditional probability as it is now appearing on GCSE papers. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you

Reading Pie Charts

This pdf consists of 6 questions on reading or interpreting Pie Charts. I think all the questions are relevant to pupils and are more interesting than – “What is your favourite colour?” There is enough work for a full lesson allowing the teacher to discuss one or two questions before pupils attempt the remaining questions. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Small Angle Approximations + answers

(0)
A very underrated topic in most text books - this PDF covers all that you will need to teach / learn the small angle approximations at ‘A’ level. I have approached the topic from various angles to ensure a lot of variability in the style of question and it’s focus - i have not combined it with any other expansions though. I have finished it off with a couple of questions involving the Sine rule and Cosine rule which are a little bit more challenging. Answers are included. Please give feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

This is a large PDF consisting of almost 80 questions on linear equations with brackets. I aimed this at all classes, at KS3 only doing the first half of each question and at KS4 only doing one or two columns. Questions get progressively harder. Question 1 - 26 questions of the form a(bx + c) = d Question 2 - 26 questions of the form a(bx + c) = d(ex + f) Question 3 - 26 questions of the form a(bx + c) + d(ex + f) = g **** Answers are included **** Please give feedback, especially if you like my work - thank you.

This PDF consists of over 100 ratios which can be simplified. Aimed at Key Stage 3, I wrote this as a differentiated worksheet - not all students need to do all the questions (of course) Questions include some with units, some with three parts to the ratio, some with fractions and/or decimals It is really extensive and I used to often use it as a starter with foundation groups for some revision. Answers are included. please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

GCSE Calculator Practice (challenge) - With Answers

This is a great challenge aimed at higher level students who need to know how to use all the functions on their calculator. This is a PDF of 2 questions, each with 26 parts, which I set as a challenge to all students sitting higher level GCSE. Although the focus is on the use of a calculator I couldn’t resist including some estimation (throughout Q1) and approximations Q1 and Q2 just to top it off. No student has ever achieved 100% on these questions though I was always really pedantic in marking. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you

This sheet has been divided into 5 clearly different sections allowing for differentiation. The second sheet starts with some factorisation and then goes into applications of factorisation - plenty to talk about here and give the more able a bit of a challenge. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.
Rearranging Simple Equations - with answers

Rearranging Simple Equations - with answers

(0)
I wrote this sheet to meet the needs of GCSE Foundation level students - keeping the formula quite basic. It is ideal for the introduction of rearrangements in earlier years too. The sheet begins with 5 questions which show ‘why’ we need to rearrange. This is followed by 26 questions involving one x and one y and numbers - using as many everyday functions in as many ways as i could. Finally a further 26 questions where we introduce a and b as constants too - this often muddies the waters for Foundation students and I always found I had insufficient questions to offer them. This is a thorough worksheet as a pdf of two pages covering everything you will need from introduction to GCSE foundation level. Answers are included too Please provide feedback so I can continue to offer a good service.
