GCSE FRENCH: Bataille Navale - Imparfait - French imperfect tense

(0)
Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to have your students practice the imperfect tense. This game is perfect for both core and immersion curriculums and everything written on the games is in French. *There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. I encourage you to allow your students to use a resource that you choose for them to check your answers. If you're not sure what to use I can highly recommend verb2verb.com. This resource includes 40 regular and irregular verbs. 5 different versions of the game are included. ust print out one page of the version of this game that you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the imperfect tense. Another idea is to have students make simple sentences using the subject pronoun and verb of choice. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies.

GCSE FRENCH: Ceci ou Cela - French Game of 2 Extremes Ice-breaker Activity

GCSE FRENCH: Ceci ou Cela - French Game of 2 Extremes Ice-breaker Activity

(0)
Keep your middle school and high school French students active by playing the "Two Extremes" game. The facilitator will use a stack of cards listing things, activities or places that fall at opposite ends of the spectrum, such as: salty or sweet, Paris or New York, Mac or PC. The students start standing in a big group, but when each choice is read, they move to the side of the room that the facilitator indicates is associated with their choice (see the arrows on the cards). Those who can’t make up their mind or don’t have a preference remain in the center. Students will see all of the things that they have in common with their classmates and will likely learn some new vocabulary while they’re at it! These cards are great for middle school or high school and can be used at any time, especially when everyone needs a break and needs to stand up and move around a bit. This activity requires no teacher prep once the set of cards is printed and cut out. Don’t want to print or don’t have time to do so? That’s ok! There’s a PDF file with only one card per page that you can project and play as a class. Included: PDF of big cards to project when you don’t want to print Stack of 50 cards to print, cut out, punch holes in and attach with a ring - Black and white & color copies provided How to play LICENSING TERMS: This purchase includes a license for one teacher only for personal use in their classroom. GCSE FRENCH: French avoir expressions game - Quel Dommage!

When you are teaching or reviewing the verb AVOIR and AVOIR EXPRESSIONS your students will have a great time practicing with this hands on game: QUEL DOMMAGE!! This is a review game in which students play by filling in the blanks with the verb avoir. You can use any tense with this game and review avoir expressions at the same time. There is an answer key in the present tense that students can use to check their work. Some sentences use simple negation. Perfect supplement for core French, French immersion and homeschool curriculums. Using avoir expressions is essential to forming a strong base knowledge of French, yet they can be difficult to master without lots and lots of practice and review. You can pull this game out time and time again over the course of the years (use it when reviewing the verb avoir in any tense) as a no-prep activity. Detailed instructions on how to play are included so that even subs can have your students play this fun game when you need to be away. How to play QUEL DOMMAGE: All you have to do is print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out. If you laminate them you'll have a no prep activity ready to go for years to come! Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams. Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key. L'Environnement - French 20 Questions Game - Le Jour de la Terre - Earth Day

(0)
L’Environnement - French 20 Questions Game - Le Jour de la Terre - Earth Day The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions and in this version of the game students will practice asking questions about 30 different nouns and adjectives related to L’ENVIRONNEMENT ET LA POLLUTION. There is a French - English set and one that is only in French. This speaking and listening activity will work well with your chapter on the environment or for Earth Day - Le Jour de la Terre. Included: 1 version with 30 words each in French and English 1 version with 30 words each in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the version of the game that you want to use and do a whole class activity. Many of the words will likely be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice asking questions, but also to build and reinforce vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words written on the chart. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … tu es une personne? … tu es un animal? … tu es un minéral? … tu es un endroit? … tu es un aliment? … tu es une plante? … tu es un objet? … etc The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
