AQA Physics - Conservation of Momentum Revision/ Exam Skills Lesson

(0)
This lesson can be used as a revision/exam prep lesson in the run up to mocks and summer exams. It could also be used in teaching momentum for the first time, but would maybe need a bit of fleshing out over the basics. It is aimed at pupils taking the higher tier examinations. The main focus of the lesson is how to break down conservation of momentum questions and what marks are awarded for. Lesson includes: Starter for 5 - 5 quick revision questions as a settler Introduction/recap of the momentum formula and units. Provided are two example questions to model to pupils how you want them to present their calculations and to demonstrate the rearrangement of the formula. 5 questions for pupils to attempt on their own (answers on the slide after) Recap of the principle of conservation of momentum A series of slides detailing how to approach conservation of momentum exam questions, highlighting the common themes of this question and providing a protocol for answering these types of question. An exemplar answer to the question demonstrating where marks are awarded A sample exam question for pupils to attempt using these ideas with mark scheme Detailed walk through of how to approach a conservation of momentum calculation question including model answer with marking points highlighted A sample of exam questions from past papers for pupils to practice the ideas on. Includes mark scheme.
