Angles in Parallel Lines Exam Questions

(2)
These are taken from the incredible website mathsgenie.co.uk. I have used them in a lesson where I printed off the attached .pdf with the question on top and the worked solution on the bottom and folded the sheet so that the question would be on one side and the worked solution on the other. I then placed a selection of these at the back of the classroom and one student per table would get up and pick out one question. The students would work in pairs to answer the question in their exercise books and then mark their own work with the worked solutions. If they feel confident, they can put themselves down as experts. After that, they bring the question back and pick a new one. This works also well with a mixture of topics.

Mean Median Mode Card Sort activity

(1)
Card sort activity about three different averages: Mean, Median Mode. I usually print them 4 different colours of paper and cut 4 at a time. There’s no frame on purpose so you can’t guess the correct answer by matching up the lines.

I have ... what's yours? Nth-term game.

(0)
Game for a class of up to 35 students about finding and using the nth term. This requires everyone’s focus and works best when it’s snappy. Does not need to involve all cards, but they need to be consecutive. 2 or more cards per student in smaller classes also works. Make sure to print off a copy for yourself to follow along if the class gets stuck.
