An 8-10 lesson mini-unit of Gothic Poetry aimed at KS3. This unit features Walter De La Mare’s ‘The Listeners’, an abridged version of Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ and Alfred Noyes’ ‘The Listeners’.
The aim of this unit is to teach language and structure analysis. There are some resources and suggestions for differentiation, including several more challenging lessons that demonstrate the effect of different meters.
