Year 9 non fiction scheme week 4 writing to inform
Series of lessons designed to link in with PSHE body image whilst also a) helping students with independent learning and research techniques, b) guiding them through the basics of information writing and c) making them aware of the problems of using the internet for research, so links in well to ICT across the curriculum.

A lesson focusing on the resolution of the novel. Suggested reading for background and discussion points.
Jane Eyre revision materials Eng lang/lit ELLA 1
A variety of revision materials ranging from lessons to quick quizzes and example exam questions. Students could use them to decide on key passages to revise or draw mind maps of points for each question.
Jane Eyre Session 5 Whitcross Eng lang/lit ELLA 1
This session allows for students to consolidate their learning. The activity requires students to look closely at a few short passages exploring how Bronte presents nature in the turning point of the novel.
Jane Eyre Session 4 Thornfield Eng Lang/Lit ELLA 1
A series of lessons to guide students through the Thornfield section of the novel. Offers suggestions for background reading, passages to analyse and possible essay questions and creative tasks for section A or B of the examination.
Romantic poetry sessions for year 9
The first two weeks of lessons on Romanticism. Week 1 study Blake, week 2 Wordsworth, week 3, 4 and 5 Coleridge. A work in progress but the lessons have worked really well with top set G&T students.
Punctuation worksheets
Worksheets on use of the colon, semi-colon and apostrophes. May be printed to be used as part of a DIRT lesson to improve writing.
All My Sons lessons Eng lang/lit ELLA 2
A series of lesson desiged to aid the teaching of Arthur Miller's 'All My Sons'. Gives basic analysis with a language focus in order to help use the spoken language framework for ELLA 2 part B examination. May also be used as a revision aid for the students.
Year 8 introduction to poetry analysis week 1
Developed to teach middle ability students a basic introductory frame of analysis. Easy to adapt for either top or lower ability. Encourages team work and independent learning. Lessons based on 'The Song of the Old Mother' by William Butler Yeats.
Grammar Spelling and Punctuation lessons
This selection of one off grammar, spelling, punctuation and skills consolidation lessons are designed as revision lessons. The quick fire activities can be timed to give challenge and to give an exciting competitive element to revising basic SPAG skills. Slides can also be printed to use for short homework tasks. Ideal for Key Stage 3.
