Two resources for teaching and learning 25 Greek and Latin affixes and roots. The first is a PowerPoint presentation which introduces the 25 word parts. Each slide includes 5 items: a word part, meaning of the word part, a picture to help remember the meaning, and a focus word with definition which shows the use of the part. You can easily convert the presentation to Google Slides.
The second resource is four complete sets of flashcards for the same word parts. The first two sets include each of the 25 affixes and roots, the third set has the meanings of the word parts, and the fourth set has the meanings with a picture. Several blank cards are included so you can add additional word parts to study. The flashcards are perfect for centers, small groups, or individual practice. Print on heavy paper (cardstock) and laminate for long-term use. Use them for games such as Charades, Go Fish, Concentration and Pictionary. Your ELL, visual, and kinesthetic learners will enjoy the activities as they build their vocabulary! An answer key is provided to allow students to check their work.
