Students explore a range of differing needs for an audience when creating work and spans over seven lessons. Sometimes students can get stressed about group work, remembering lines or performing. This chill out pass enables them to have time to calm down before the situation escalates. The pass can be easily printed and laminated. It is relatively self explanatory but when introducing the pass be clear about the rules so that it is not misused.
This unit of work was influenced and adapted from Woman In Black Education Pack - written by Mark Palmer (Director of Learning for Creative and Media, Wildern School, Southampton)
It explores different dramatic techniques whilst focusing on the story of Woman In Black. The SOW explores a variety of differing drama skills including set design/ editing and creative writing. The SOW includes a practical assessment, opportunities for written work and research projects to be completed at home. This SOW is ideal for a high ability KS3 class or even KS4. Students do not have to have read the story before starting this work.
