This resource consists of spelling lists for reception to year 6. The lists are also presented in a precision teaching grid format. To make this resource, I referred to the common exception word lists in the National Curriculum which consist of combined word lists for years 3 and 4 and for years 5 and 6. I separated these by difficulty to create lists for each year group. The words for reception to year 2 are from the National Literacy Strategy. This resource consists of a PowerPoint presentation with ten punctuation and grammar activities reflecting the spelling, punctuation and grammar requirements from the year 2 curriculum for English: capital letters, full stops, question marks, exclamation marks, time conjunctions, compound sentences, subordination, apostrophes for possession, noun phrases and commas in lists. These activities are based on an animal theme and each one lasts for 5- 15 minutes. This resource could be used for standalone grammar sessions or as an English starter.
