I recently used these two worksheets for my second set Year 9 class. They were given a choice of what worksheet to start with, those that started the red were encouraged to move on to an extension on the board. The green worksheet is easier than the red worksheet. I run a puzzle of the month competition at school. I put the puzzle on display outside of the maths classrooms but also encourage teachers to show the presentation as a starter in their lessons. Students place their entries into a post box outside of my classroom and a winner is randomly picked out of all the correct entries. I award all entries with housepoints, with extra being awarded if they were correct. Feel free to use how you will, at the very least there will be some engaging maths problems for you to use, with answers attached.
