From Mira 2 Module 2 Chapter 1, this PowerPoint presents vocabulary for places in a town and revisits the verb ir. The near future is introduced with activities and there is an exercise on the PowerPoint as well as a reinforcement worksheet.
NEW VERSION ADDED We print these in A3 and have them on every table in every classroom. I have used suggested phrases from lots of sources as well as my own.
The pupils use the mats regularly during group talk activities and their spontaneous use of language has increased significantly.
I always use this song to teach the future tense as it really helps students with the pronunciation of the tense. The infinitive verbs are given and students have to identify the correct form of the future tense after hearing the song.
These excellent resources come from 1jour1actu.com and are aimed at French pupils from CM1 and CM2. Ideally suited for use with A2 students, they cover the topics of poverty, education (the school day), politics, the freedom of speech and equal rights for girls and boys.
This is another of my verb card races. Print off the cards from the word doc and get groups to compete against each other to get the translations right. It uses the verb 'porter' as an example and requires knowledge of the present, perfect, imperfect, future and near future.
This is a collection of my speaking board games which are ideal for independent work. They can be used for any language. They are ideal for GCSE role play revision, but can also be excellent preparation for the listening and reading examinations.
There are some ideas on how to use the boards. You may like to give pupils dice and some counters, but you can also play with them when the board is projected on your whiteboards (to save printing costs).
This is just a reference sheet which I supply to my year 7 after having introduced -er verbs. It is visually more interesting than most things I found on the net. It also includes my verb flower (an idea I pinched from someone else years ago!). I have large coloured verb flowers stuck on the wall of my classroom.
This is a checklist I give to my class when they are writing or preparing passages which may later be used to create drafts for assessments. The box for controlled assessment phrases refers to the lists of useful coursework phrases from mfl Sunderland.
