These are the materials I use in the first lesson to A level Psychology.
There is a PowerPoint slide with some games and information about the course and a work book that the students can take away.
The editable slides and workbooks are available for a small fee. These are PDF files.
A powerpoint quiz with a Christmas theme. Several rounds with different types of questions. Fun for all - can work in teams or alone. Takes approx 90 mins, but you could take out some questions to shorten it and of course change questions to suit your teaching.
There is one for Year 12s with basic knowledge of Approaches in Psychology and another more directed for Year 13s.

This is a light quiz for year 12 A level Psychology students in the style of Richard Osman’s House of Games quiz show.
Feel free to add/adapt the questions.
It can take about 50 minutes, and you should check the actual show on TV to get the gist of it, although there are explanations of each round on the slides.
Some questions are very hard, and students will need time to figure things out.
All questions refer to Papers 1 & 2.
This is a slide deck AND handbook for the inferential statistic topic in A level Psychology. It has been designed to help delivery for the AQA specification. So covers the following tests: Sign, Chi Sq, Wilcoxen, Mann Whitney, T Tests, Spearman and Pearson’s. I have included some stuff of the rationale of stats tests.
The materials have fun examples and activities to work on in class. They contain several past exam questions in the booklets that the teacher can mark and give feedback. There are also worked examples that can take your students through each stats test and the critical value tables to work from (although remember they do not have to work them out by hand in the exam). I can provide slides that take students through the working of each stats tests on request.

Slides and a complimentary handbook for the Cognitive Approach section in Paper 2 of the AQA A level Psychology specification that includes the assumptions and background of cognitive psychology. There is a handbook that relates to this information that includes activities and exam style questions. This can be used in class, or as flipped learning for students to complete remotely. In class this should cover 5-8 hours teaching time.

It starts with a general ice breaker, looking at key ideas in PSychology, Psychopath v Psychologist game, Kahoot link, visual illusions and ending with the birthday game - ideal for larger classes (23+)
There is a PowerPoint slides should be used with the information relating to the AQA specification. There is other general information about how I teach the course and a work book that the students can take away.
There is a Skills for Psychology Workbook in this pack - this is a set of key ideas and terms that students should know at the start of the course. Also some practice literacy and numeracy skills at this early stage.

Here is a set of slides I used to conduct a taster session (AQA - but can be adapted)
I structured the session around memory (3 experiments). Students do not have to interact, but you will have to explain the theory. The experiments run through automatically - I do advise that you run the slides before presenting on line.
(I have added a link at the end to youtube where I speak over the slides and you can run the slides as a recording - but be aware this is for applicant to my college - I will update this if requested)
This is a work book and slides for students who are halfway through their A level Psychology course. It is not too content or work heavy for them, as it is merely a tool used to keep their interest over the long break. You may want to set them more specific work.
I have added the Introduction to A2 work book as well.
