Edexcel ALevel Core Values of Socialism for Politics This lesson examines the core values underpinning Socialism as an ideology with some links to key thinkers and examples. Lesson 2 of my Socialism unit for Alevel. This lesson includes a range of resources including video clips to demonstrate the key ideas. This lessons should take 2-4 hours depending if you get students to do the Core Values independently and then go over it all to explain it after wards. I use both the Heywood and Pearson book for doing Core Values to give students for reading but if you have neither- a detailed summary of all ideas is contained on these slides.

Detailed and fully resourced 2 hour lesson on October manifesto and Fundamental laws as well as the Consequences of the 1905 Revolution and analysis of how far Oct manifesto stabilised Russia. How did the Tsar survive 1905? Analysis of the reasons 1905 was different to 1917. Detailed impact on political consequences including splits in the Liberal opposition- creation of the Kadets and Octobrist factions and also the impact on the Soviets and losing support temporarily for the SDs in the cities. This is my first double lesson for ALevel Russia (OCR) course 1894-1941 I use pages from Oxley/ Corin and Fiehn or Access to History by Lynch but students can do their own research with ipads or use the slides also if you do not have access to any of these textbooks to find the information. There is a lot of info in here from various sources so does not matter if you do not have the textbooks. Looking at an intro to Russia in 1894 including the context of Alexander II and III reforms and autocratic repression and how this legacy would cause Nicholas II problems from the outset. Also examines the issues/ challenges facing Nicholas as he ascends the throne in 1894. Students complete a “health report” on RUssia and then analyse Nicholas’ main problems ready for the next lesson (Opposition to Nicholas’ rule). Includes make yyour own card sort activity and some analytical thinking about the positive and negative impact of reform and beginning indurstrialisation. Will actually take 3 hours plus to get through it all - there is a lot! I am including my course guide which took hours in this lesson has topic check lists, key people, key vocab etc which is needed for students as well as tips for good essays and exam paper past questions. This is why this is a bit more expensive than my usual lessons- will get your ALevel Russia students off to a flying start. This is also part of my bundle of resources for ALevel Russia if you want to look at that rather than buying individual lessons.

Edexcel GCSE 2 Lesson set looking at the Impact of the Wall Street Crash on Germany in depth and how Hitler became Chancellor Includes all resources- no need for any textbooks or additional information Very good for revision and analysis of causes for Hitler becoming Chancellor. Includes 12 mark exam question and this lesson will go really well with the 2022 summer exam question- interpretations.

ALevel lesson (2 hours long) on the Revolt of the Northern Earls 1569 Designed for OCR Tudors Rebellion and Disorder course- looks at the rebellion according to the themes- causes, nature, threat, reasons for defeat and impact. Very detailed and comprehensive resources, all information included- no textbook needed. Also includes analysis and evaluation tasks and critical thinking.

Includes a huge range of worksheets for teaching the Plains Natives and the impact of white settlement on their culture. I have also included the lessons but these are mainly smart notebook files so they may not work for you if you do not have the software to open therefore I am only charging for the worksheets as these all did take a long time to make! Includes glossary of key terms, regions of America info for the various tribes, Native culture and religion, tipis, reasons for migration and contact, impact of white settlement and westward expansion and cultural erosion and genocide. This is NOT a KS4 set of lessons- they are for KS3.

This lesson is an investigation lesson into potential reforms of the UK Democratic system to boost participation and engagement, make the government more legitimate and accountable and improve representation. Included: Complete lesson designed to take 2 hours plus homework. Full powerpoint, all resources for investigation and writing up analysis and evaluation. For the Edexcel Government and Politics spec from 2017 but will suit AQA also.

Lesson for ALevel History This is for the OCR Thematic Tudor Rebellions scheme of work but can be used for Tudors looking at social unrest due to socio-economic problems in the Mid-Tudor Crisis. Full lesson which covers all aspects of the rebellion with a variety of activities including card sort, venn diagram, tables, continuum and lots of reading. Examines Causes, Aims, Nature, Events, Reasons for Increased Threat and Decreased Threat, Government resopnse and Impact of the Kett rebellion.

Double Lesson for ALevel OCR TUdor Rebellions focused on the Oxfordshire and Essex Rebellions- more on the Essex Rebellion since Oxfordshire is not very significant and doesn’t have lots of material. Very comprehensive 2 x 2 hour lessons (more if you use the Starkey youtube clip)- ((you may want to include a disclaimer about his views not being the views of your History department!)) and use all of the reading. Essex is such a character- I love teaching this. You can also buy this as part of a bundle of Tudor Rebellions lessons on Rebellions against Mary and Elizabeth (England only) I have a separate bundle for Ireland.

Exam board: Edexcel but easily used for AQA also. This booklet has taken me a long time to put together but I am finally happy with it- all organised thematically. Section 1: Key words/ glossaries Section 2: Understanding causes of illness- Medieval -Modern Section 3: Treatments/ Medicines and Hospitals Section 4: Treatments/ Surgery Section 5: Prevention and Public Health Section 6: WWI Western Front All sections are ended with exam question practice/ questions are broken down to help students plan their answers rather than writing them all out in full. They also included modelled practice for tasks students need to complete and example answers for all exam question types.

This is for ALevel Politics Edexcel but can be adapted to other boards- updated for 2022 with more recent developments in the voting rights issue. Detailed lesson looking at the Supreme Court and Civil / Voting Rights- it has everything you need included if you do not have the textbook it is fine!

Very detailed as I’ve been improving this over three years, learning from mistakes as I’ve gone along!
