Includes examples of both Comparative GOVERNMENT questions and Comparative THEORY questions. These are for the following questions: Examine the similarities between the US House of Representatives and the UK House of Commons (12 marks) Analyse the different legislative powers between the US Congress and the UK Parliament (12 marks) Note both the above 12 markers are on one word document. This powerpoint has been used very successfully over past two years to provide ~ITT training on issues around sex/ gender and increasing cases of sexual abuse, sexual discrimination, rape and misogyny/ misandry in schools. Why is it increasing? How is it increasing? How can we challenge it? Warning includes some triggering content but is very important for younger generation of teachers who are coming into the profession. This assembly is based on this year’s theme- reclaiming the Narrative as well as highlighting how easily false narratives have spread. Examines the role of racial bias in the media and politics in the UK and the riots of 2024 as well as the insideous nature of the anti-Haitian rhetoric from some in the USA. Idea is to promote awareness of the danger of misinformation and to encourage students to challenge one sided narratives especially if they are hateful. Includes a house competition which can be amended for your school and a script for the assembly if you need it. Images are for illustrative purposes only.
