Year 6 Maths Mastery Pack
These are a range of activities/tasks to demonstrate mastery and develop deeper thinking and deeper understanding of year 6 Measurement objectives. For each objective there are at least 4 activities/tasks along with answers. The document is set up so that you can quickly jump to the objective you are covering and then simply print the appropriate pages.

Objectives covered:
Draw 2-D shapes using given dimensions and angles
Recognise, describe and build simple 3-D shapes, including making nets
Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes and find unknown angles in any triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons
Illustrate and name parts of circles, including radius, diameter and circumference and know that the diameter is twice the radius
Recognise angles where they meet at a point, are on a straight line, or are vertically opposite, and find missing angles

Some simple sentences I came up with to help year 1 children remember: how/when to use capital letters; full stops; exclamation marks; question marks; capital “I”; capitals for places, days and people; and to use “and” to join ideas. Designed to be taught to the class as if casting a magic spell (use pencils like wands etc).

Joining words and joining clauses using ‘and’
Beginning to punctuate sentences using a capital letter and a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark
Using a capital letter for names of people, places, the days of the week, and the personal pronoun ‘I’

This is one arithmetic test based on the 2016 arithmetic test (SATs). It has been created using the Year 6 Arithmetic Tests resource that can be found by clicking here. In the full resource you will find test generators for questions based on the 2016, 2017 and 2018 arithmetic tests. In addition, there is a Questions Only generator for each test (for regular use and to save on printing costs) and a tracking sheet to show progress over time and identify weaknesses.
