Active reading sheets get pupils to read the information several times and analyse it in different ways. Pupil read the sheet then re-read it to add titles to paragraphs, then re-read it to find the negatives, then re-read to find the positives, then re-read to find business strategies. The first page is the Q&A sheet, with questions from the syllabus. Higher tier questions in bold type. Students can revise alone, just fold down the middle. Or with a partner, the advantage being that the partner has the correct answers, so they don't have to invent questions or make up answers. Great for parental involvement in revision. The second page has the answers removed and can be used for testing. No need for you to mark it, if the pupils have their copy of the QéA sheet they can peer or self mark and then set targets. Simple, just a worked example based around an old exam question.

This is really simple. A named monomer followed by the named polymer. The structure of both are shown clearly to help with relating the polymer to the monomer and vice versa.

Four clear powerpoint slides that show crystallinity in HDPE, random chains in LDPE, thermosetting polymers and thermosoftening polymers. I go through it using the IWB but print out the slides, two on a paged,backed, without the diagrams, to give pupils the opportunity to draw out the different structures.

Relates atomic models of Dalton, Thomson, Rutherford and Bohr. Questions sheet to accompany it, questions are levelled according to Bloom.

A very basic powerpoint and a cloze worksheet aimed at the middle to low ability. Watch the printing as the spectra are in colour and that makes the photocopying expensive. If capitation is an issue, best to print in greyscale and have students add their own colour using the presentation or use the new black and white version.
