Introduction to the themes and conventions of pantomime in the build up to a final group piece where students need to create their own pantomime.
Entire 6 week block of lessons based on the genre of pantomime.
Students learn about various themes, conventions and characters while creating their own version of a pantomime.

Lesson 2 focusses specifically on the theme of 'magic'. It also introduces the magical characters on the island.
Lesson 2 also includes a design question (unit 3, GCSE) for homework. Homework sheet included as part of bundle.

Lesson 6 is the final assessment for this unit. It allows students to create a devised piece (ao2 from Eduqas GCSE spec) based on the themes and ideas explored throughout the unit. It uses the Tempest as a stimulus for a GCSE style devised piece.

Lesson 4 focusses specifically on the characters of Ariel and Caliban

Lesson 3 focusses specifically on the betrayal and empathy. Challenging the idea of good vs evil. It also includes a fun non-naturalistic task showing how Prospero was over-thrown.
