I give each student a different part. They have 5 minutes to get to know their reproductive part and then share the information with other students through a speed dating activity: Dating advice: Listen carefully to what your partner is saying Look at them when they are talking to you Ask lots of questions- check you have understood them Images shown on the board of both the male and female reproduction systems. Second/third lesson: How reproduction takes place: Powerpoint provides information on ovaluation, conceptualisation/fertilisation and implanation. Videos are also included in the powerpoint to support learning. Appluy it activity is to design a children’s book that explains reproduction. Instructions: It should include key terms ovulation, conception and implantation but be simple enough for a primary school student to understand. Homework/ additonal activity on powerpoint. I then ask students to use a textbook to explain the signs and symptoms of pregnancy Compare at least two of the signs and symptoms.
