A series of articles to stretch and challenge grade 8/9 students in their understanding of A Christmas Carol. This document is in word doc form so it is easy for editing and changing. Each article also has prompt questions and is under 2 sides of A4 so it is easy to use within lessons and for self-study at home. I have sited all of my sources - I used the The Deep Bare Garden blog as a starting point but have shortened the articles to only include necessary information and added more articles on top.

A booklet of extracts from academic essays to further the student’s knowledge of the play Romeo and Juliet and to stretch and challenge Grade 8/9 students. Included are the titles of the articles and discussion questions for each one. This could be shared with students for independent work, or work in classroom. No article is over 2 pages long so they are digestible for a high-level GCSE student. I have used the Says Miss blog as a starting point, but I have edited down the articles used and added some of my own.

I have found a picture to help students visualise each of the poems from AQA’s Power and Conflict anthology. They can be printed and stuck in so that students can find the poem that they need quickly and remember what it is about.
