Key scene from the film "Sophie Scholl - die letzten Tage" , as it appears in the Drehbuch, in which Sophie is questioned by the Gestapo investigator. Students must (i) answer the questions in English (ii) compare the official script with the scene in the film and spot the differences.
Dialogue in which a character from Das Wunder von Bern describes his relationships with other characters. The text is not from the film but is true in spirit to the relationships in the movie. The dialogue is followed by a comprehension exercise with questions in English.

This interactive match-up quiz contains 45 tennis terms. Each time it is opened it will select ten of the 45 at random. It will never quite be the same activity twice. If you use it in a computer suite every student will in effect have a different quiz.

Three texts of increasing sophistication, ghost-written by characters from a reality show. Students have to evaluate the texts and give a NC level to each one. They then have to re-write one of the texts to improve the NC level. There are then two more written tasks to complete
4 short texts based on internet threads, in which teenagers blog about their dream job or uncertainty about their dream job. Texts are followed by comprehension questions in English, a 'find the phrase' activity, plus a 'now manipulate the phrase you found' activity.
Fairly challenging text about the history of one of the oldest olympic disciplines. The gaps are all verbs in a variety of tenses. Will work on PC or IW.

(The original four texts are from Lernpunkt Deutsch 3, but the two texts featuring authentic German handwriting have proved to be too hard to read for many of my students so I've typed them up!)

This is an edited version of Kiffen und Komasaufen, which I uploaded previously. This version has been altered to suit the needs of my AS class. The text is followed by a richtig/falsch/nicht im Text exercise, questions in German, a 'find the phrase' activity, a translation into German of English language data regarding the situation in the UK, and a writing activity in which students must then compare and contrast the data from both countries.
