Sequence of activities to help students learn to say what they have done in German during this academic year and express this in the form of self-penned school reports

A relatively simple dialogue about school subjects and teachers with questions in English. Written for beginners.

Higher Level texts about health and fitness, followed by comprehension, summarising, 'find the phrase', and adaptation exercises plus a writing task to wrap it up.

Key scene from the film "Sophie Scholl - die letzten Tage" , as it appears in the Drehbuch, in which Sophie is questioned by the Gestapo investigator. Students must (i) answer the questions in English (ii) compare the official script with the scene in the film and spot the differences.

Dialogue in which a character from Das Wunder von Bern describes his relationships with other characters. The text is not from the film but is true in spirit to the relationships in the movie. The dialogue is followed by a comprehension exercise with questions in English.

Simple speaking stimulus. Each slide has a picture of a celeb and students have to choose one of the three options given to express what the celeb does in their free time. No right or wrong answers.

This interactive match-up quiz contains 45 tennis terms. Each time it is opened it will select ten of the 45 at random. It will never quite be the same activity twice. If you use it in a computer suite every student will in effect have a different quiz.

Questions in German to stimulate discusssion about shopping, shopping habits, and possibly even gender stereotypes.

Set of mini-toolkits for saying simple sentences in French about pets. Organised and colour-coded to illustrate the concept of gender in French.

Colour coded grammar toolkit to help students formulate sentences such as 'I've got a dog called &'Lumpi&';.' or I used to have cat, called 'Mimi&'.' or 'When I was little, I used to have a cat called &';Mimi'.'

Text in which the characters from Scooby Doo describe what they do in their free time. Text is followed by questions in English and a 'Richtig, falsch, nicht im Text' exercise.

GCSE style text with questions in English. This an edited down version of the AS level text I also uploaded.

A number images of school uniforms from various countries for students to describe and comment on. Also one suggested seventies-style 'teacher uniform' for them to describe and comment on, and which begs the question for further oral work 'Sollten die Lehrer eine Uniform tragen?'

Text about the world's first wind-powered car, with comprehension questions in German, and discussion questions which could also be answered in written form or used as a scaffold for oral work.

Three texts of increasing sophistication, ghost-written by characters from a reality show. Students have to evaluate the texts and give a NC level to each one. They then have to re-write one of the texts to improve the NC level. There are then two more written tasks to complete

4 short texts based on internet threads, in which teenagers blog about their dream job or uncertainty about their dream job. Texts are followed by comprehension questions in English, a 'find the phrase' activity, plus a 'now manipulate the phrase you found' activity.

Fairly challenging text about the history of one of the oldest olympic disciplines. The gaps are all verbs in a variety of tenses. Will work on PC or IW.

Short texts in which school pupils express the likelihood of their going into the sixth form versus looking for training or employment, followed by comprehension questions in English, a 'Find the phrase' exercise and a text manipulation exercise. (The original four texts are from Lernpunkt Deutsch 3, but the two texts featuring authentic German handwriting have proved to be too hard to read for many of my students so I've typed them up!)

TOOLKIT outlining ordinal numbers from 1 - 31 with the twelve months. The structures will enable students to say when they and others celebrate their birthdays and when they ans others were born.

This is an edited version of Kiffen und Komasaufen, which I uploaded previously. This version has been altered to suit the needs of my AS class. The text is followed by a richtig/falsch/nicht im Text exercise, questions in German, a 'find the phrase' activity, a translation into German of English language data regarding the situation in the UK, and a writing activity in which students must then compare and contrast the data from both countries.
