This is a 2 hours sequence about the scene in which the Pere Jean gives a sermon about charity and an angry parent leave. This is an important scene about how the indifference of many led to the consequence we know. This 2 hours lesson helps students develop their analytical skills using the PETAL ( point, evidence, technique, analysis and Link) system for better essays. 2 hours worth of reflection around the significance of the relationship between Salamano and his dog in L’Etranger by Albert Camus. Includes key words, a gapfill activity, a translation, discussions, drawings. It will help develop thought process around the major themes of the novel, using the interesting conflicting relationship of the neighbour and his poor dog. My students enjoyed it as it is a part of the book they could all relate to as they all felt entrigued.
