These look very effective as a wall display if you give a choice of bright colours for the lamps. The download is a PDF with instructions and templates for the lamps and flames. Top tip provide the glitter glue in the small plastic shot glasses you find in pound shops and give them cotton buds to apply it with. You only need to provide a tiny amount of glitter glue and it can all get binned at the end of the lesson ;)

News Bulletin Class Easter Service or Assembly KS2

An Easter assembly done as 5 news bulletin reports outlining the different parts of the Easter story as it may be reported today. I used this for the Easter service at church across 5 classes but easily adapted to an assembly and different groupings. 10 speaking parts. Could also be an Easter dram/RE/RME lesson.

PowerPoint presentation setting Learning Intentions and Success Criteria for a lesson working on describing settings. Designed to be interactive with hyperlinks from slide 4, touch an adjective and get a selection of photos which fit that description. Invite to use words related to the senses in their writing. Sets a task to write a descrption using a set of pictures of different settings (I used 2 sets from different teacher resource sites, one pictorial and the other photos to give children a choice).

A Huge Bag of Worries worksheet

Simple worksheet to share what would be in our bag of worries. I then get children to colour code by underlining the ones we can give to someone else, deal with ourselves, etc. Great starter for a discussion about big problems, little problems.

Shoe Design Challenge Sheet

(0)
I have run a shoe design challenge as a team building, business studies and enterprise topic. This sheet is for pupils to first design their trainer before pooling their team ideas on a larger A3 version. I have then given them a cheap plain white lace up gym shoe (small size and just 1 per group) to design a prototype with Sharpies they then market and advertise. Think Apprentice/Dragon's Den style. People Same but Different Colours of the Wind quote banner

(0)
Banner with a quote from the Disney song Colours of the Wind. "You think the only people who are people Are the people who look and think like you But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger You'll learn things you never knew, you never knew" I used this to explore differences and prejudice at many levels of society. This is an Excel file which is set to print on many pages to make a long banner. The picture is printed on one A4 sheet and is for illustration only.

A PowerPoint exploring the Apollo 8 Christmas broadcast to Earth and why men of science also practised religous beliefs. Clicking the photo on slide 5 should play the sound file. If this doesn't happen the hyperlink on slide 5 will need adjusting. Right click the photo, Edit hyperlink and locate where you have saved the sound file to. You may want to delete/amend Slide 2. You will need to add your name an beliefs to Slide 7.

Identifying coins coin rubbing activity sheet.

I have used this many time in P1 (Reception) to get children to identify coins correctly. They place the coins under the sheet and use silver and bronze crayons to gently rub the design onto the sheet. They think this is magic and really enjoy the task. Works with plastic coins.
