This worksheet is a graphic organiser for students observing oral presentations. The idea is for them to be more intentional in their observations and to fill out remarks in each of 4 areas:
Content
Body Language
Voice
Preparation
You can ask them to fill it out while watching a teacher-chosen example, then get them to fill it out while listening to a friend preparing their speech before the big day, or they could film themselves and fill it out as self-reflection in preparation for their assessment. Very handy!

This is a speech which was given for a secondary school graduation ceremony. It takes approximately 20 minutes to present and is 9 pages long. While it does contain some personal anecdotes and information, it is easily adaptable and would provide an excellent more-than-starting-point for a graduation ceremony, assembly, or end-of-year presentation. The topic is “5 UnTruths You’ve Been Sold About Life & How to Get Real”. It was presented in a Christian school and encapsulates Christian values.
The 5 main points made in it are:
• I matter more than anyone else (Treat others with respect, and grow where you can)
• I can do anything. (You have been given a unique set of skills and talents. Use them, and don’t try to be someone else.)
• There is no right and wrong – do what you want (There is right and wrong. Do what’s right.)
• I can do it all by myself (Appreciate and spend time with those who love and support you.)
• I can do it all by myself: I don’t need God. (Accept God’s help. He loves you and can make life better.)
Hopefully this is a great start to making life easier for your next school presentation 😊
