A* National Insurance Act + NHS analysis

These brightly coloured revision cards detail the provisions of the National Insurance Act and the National Health Service Act (1946). They explain the successes, failures and criticism that both acts received, using specific evidence to back this up. The revision card style means that they could be printed, cut out and used as revision cards/memory aids. I created these notes for History A Level, for the OCR paper Britain 1900-51, but they would suit GCSE or AS levels too. If you find these notes helpful, I am selling the complete set on my TES shop, and would also appreciate a review. You can email alevelsuk@gmail.com with any questions.

This 1,700 word essay was submitted for the OCR A Level in Classical Civilisation. It received full marks. Question: ‘Sculptors of the fourth century produced better and more successful works than their predecessors of the fifty century.’ How far do you think this is true of the sculpture you have studied? I will be advertising more Classical Civilisation essays on my shop in the weeks to come.

A* Great Gatsby/Age of Innocence comparison A Level English Lit

This document compares key themes in The Great Gatsby and The Age of Innocence and provides quotes from the texts, critical quotations, contextual information and links to other texts. It was produced for the OCR English Lit A Level, for the module American Literature 1880-1940, but would work for many different schemes of work. The document is over 10,000 words and the themes I have focused on are: .The American Dream (striving + failure) .The City (attractions + vices) .Class and Society .Convention .Marriage and Family .Wealth/Money .Women For each theme, I have included key quotes from both texts, critical quotations, contextual information and links to other texts. In particular, for the other texts I have focused on Wharton’s, ‘The House of Mirth,’ (3+ pages on this text at the end of the document) but also discuss at least 10 texts, such as ‘This Side of Paradise’ ‘Manhattan Transfer’ ‘The Beautiful and Damned’ ‘Daisy Miller’ etc. I have added two pages on modernity and the ‘lost generation’ as these are central to Fitzgerald’s novel, and an 1890s timeline plus a recommended reading list. The document is in a note-style, which would make it very easy to use for revision and essay plans.
