You need copies of The Kite Runner to read or see along with the video of the 911 impact. I had major success with these resources and have included photo’s i have taken myself at ground zero in the worksheets.

A series of lessons designed to teach Year 10-11 students about Shakespeare and how he presents feelings. This unit is pointed at a controlled assessment question that focuses on how Shakespeare and the conflict poetry POETS present ideas about feelings - poetry lessons to follow.

Here you will find the reading lessons for my Lord of the Flies SoW for the low to mid ability (Learning outcomes measured against Levels 3 - 5). ....and here it is. The second part of a KS3 investigation into poetry. It should be noted that I have targetted these lessons specifically at LOWER ABILITY year 7's - this unit is designed to be a little harder. It should be noted at this point that these resources were created in conjunction with a team of people - i do not take credit for ANY of the word documents in BOTH resources.

To be taught following the completion of the speaking and listening side of this unit. A selection of resources geared very specifically towards the creation and improvement of a mystery story.

I created these resources whilst on a second school placement during my GTP. The aim was to get a year 9 group to write creatively but familiarize them with GCSE marking criteria (Welsh Board). The information surrounding the Titanic was to provide a stimulus for them to write their own story.

These are the resources I created for teaching AS English Language - I am certain now that the spec has changed but the skills and powerpoints may be a start point for some. Hope someone out there finds these useful...

Lessons are designed to be read alongside Sherlock Holmes: The Speckled Band. Had some good success with this scheme as a way of getting students to improve their inferential skills.

You will need to read the scheme to find out what worksheet correlates to what topic. It is the Ethics and Relationships file marked as a lesson plan. This covers a lot of ground from attitudes towards good and evil, to Baby P and Social Justice. Hopefully someone will find some of these resources useful.

Having some great success with this continuation of the reading scheme. Inside, you will find resources to create a detective pack and lessons that will help students create and sustain characters. Really fun group of lessons!

A simple spreadsheet that allows you to keep track of your online lessons. My school uses classcharts as its medium in setting online learning - but you can easily change the headings of the columns to reflect whatever software you use.
